This manuscript of Thompson Westcott, editor of the Philadelphia Sunday Dispatch, is a continuation of the history of Philadelphia which appeared in that paper from 1867-1884. The published history brought the narrative to 1830; the present manuscript is a detailed history of the city from 1830 to the consolidation of the city and county of Philadelphia in 1854.
